I was exhausted by the end of last week. Being sick didn’t really help my cause, so I needed to take it easy as much as possible.

Friday night was spent indoors in front of the heater, cuddling kittens with a yummy curry and movies. We watched a movie called ‘Chef’ with Jon Favreau which I found quite enjoyable. It was very different to what I expected. Quite dark at times. They also incorporated social media into the movie and showed how social media can change your world as you know it. Very cool.

I managed to sleep in until around 9 on Saturday morning. Cue angels singing. It was great. I made Ross some breakfast in bed, trying the Suzelle DIY trick which DID NOT WORK. Case in point:

We then popped out to the shops, had some coffee, got rugby boots for Ross (he’s playing touch rugby a lot lately), and I fell in love with Cotton On all over again. We had lunch at the Nicolway Col’Cacchio’s – I tried their banting base which was good but I really dislike the texture of psyllium husks. Is it just me, or is it like chewing on slightly old gum?

Ross and I were then on a mission to find me a hoop/open nose ring. A damn mission in itself. A normal plain nose ring is not a feasible option, because they’d need to stretch my original piercing. Eww. And do you think anyone has hoop nose rings? Noooope. We improvised though, and I managed to find a sleeper ring around the right gauge. I’m still looking for a proper hoop ring though, so if anyone can help, I’ll love them forever. I’m loving the way it looks, though, and I feel like I’ve levelled up on the badass scale.

We bought a humidifier while we were out. We were uhm-ing and ahh-ing about getting one, and then we just bit the bullet and did it! We got a fancy one with a remote control and everything. Once we turned it on, we (aka Ross) sat and stared at it for ages, watching it work. We kept it on while we were sleeping and that was the first morning I woke up without a blocked nose! Magic!

We slept in AGAIN on Sunday, and I put the Comrades live streaming on while we just did nothing. It was glorious. I did start feeling guilty about my recent inactivity, so I sat finding races that Ross and I could enter.. While horizontal on the couch. Ross’ sister Jenni SMASHED the race in 9hr54minutes and it was her first Comrades! Damn incredible.

In the evening, we went out for dinner with Gary and Wendy to Pizza e Vino – I had a yummy oxtail ragu with linguine. We then watched ‘The Rewrite’ with Hugh Grant at Cinema Prestige. The movie wasn’t what I expected at all, it was also quite dark, but I really enjoyed it. I love Hugh Grant, so it was a winner for me before it even started.

What did you all get up to?
