The Sickness and My Introspection

I’ve been booked off sick for a couple days. I have actually been sick for over two weeks now, and what started off as a bit of a cold has progressed to a full-blown severe sinusitis.  I’ve been having the worst sinus headaches of my life (thanks to the inflammation causing me to BLEED INTO MY SINUSES). It’s a sexy time – let me tell you that much – and I am not even starting to feel better yet. (more…)

Gone Kitty

Our cat Coco gave us one hell of a scare on Sunday. She is an extremely timid and quiet cat. She runs and hides at the smallest noises. That said, though, in times of danger she gets aggressive. She is also the kind of cat that wants to explore the ‘hood, which we try limit her ability to do. She has only ever explored our complex, however, and has never made it out into the big, wide world. Frankly, she wouldn’t cope.  (more…)

We Are Siamese If You Please

Growing up, I had a Chocolate-Point Siamese kitten named Suzy. She was my 4th birthday present (spoilt, much?) and lived until I was 25.  That’s right, she was 21 years of age.  She was such an awesome cat, talkative, intelligent, naughty – a proper personality.

suzySiamese cats originate from Thailand (formerly known as Siam), and they are currently one of the most popular breeds in Europe and North America.

They are known to be extremely intelligent and affectionate cats, and are well-known for their social nature.  They are very vocal, and their meow is usually low-pitched and loud, referred to as a “meezer”.  Their cries sound a lot like a baby.  They are active, playful and demand your attention.  They are considered quite dog-like in their behaviour.

As most of you know, I now have two new Chocolate-Point Siamese kittens – Coco and Chloe.  They are such awesome cats.

Here is a video of them shouting at me because they were hungry:  Feed Us Now!

I don’t think I’ll ever be able to have a different breed of cat.  They are just too awesome.  I love my babies so much, and hope they will live just as long as my Suzy did.  They each have their individual personalities, Chloe is extremely talkative, they are affectionate, they sleep in our arms at night, give us kisses on our noses, they are funny and clumsy, and just plain beautiful.  They love exploring and playing, and attacking flies.  They are just the best, and it’s so sweet to see how they have become best friends, always together.
