Here are my top five wardrobe essentials for Summer that I just can’t live without..
1. Printed Joggers
These pants are the latest rage, and I’m obsessed with a pair I bought recently.. They are super comfy, forgiving and are just plain ‘spot on’ when it comes to style. Dress them down with a pair of slops and a white vest, or dress them up with some plain wedges and bling accessories.
2. Light, bright, pink lipstick.
I’ve had a
major minor obsession with pink lipstick for a while now. One of my favourites is 130 – Oxford Street Fuschia by Rimmel London. It completes any summer outfit with a punch of flirtatiousness and fun.
3. The Perfect Shades
I’m aaaahbsessed with the latest range of Dolce and Gabbana sunglasses – and although they haven’t arrived in South Africa yet, I’m hoping they’ll make an appearance soon (and that I’ll be considerably richer by that time). Powder pink frames with gold accents are perfect in keeping with the latest summer trends.
4. The Jumpsuit
A sure-fire way to stay cool and comfortable on a hot summer’s day is by wearing a short, strappy jumpsuit. A great way to show off your tan, this look can also be dressed up with a sexy pair of heels as you move from the beach to the party. The beautiful jumpsuit in the picture below can be found at Woolworths for R450! Love.
5. A Bright Handbag
The last thing you want to do is let your handbag dull your look, so make sure to step out with big, bold and bright handbags. These needn’t spend a fortune on your bag, and beautiful, inexpensive bags can be found in almost every shop at this time of year.
Summer is pretty much my favourite season – and if you hate summer, who are you?! One of the things I love most about the latest trends is that the clothing is airy, light and thin – to make sure you always feel cool, especially on a super hot day. Enjoy dressing for the season, and remember that a woman who is comfortable in what she is wearing, immediately seems more confident. So, reach for comfort, while accessing the mini-stylist in you at the same time.
